Ocean ExplorerExplore. Discover.
Explore. Discover.
Learn. Protect.
Ocean Explorer is how you go further with the 52 animals in our field guide. Read about them, show what you've learned, collect their trading cards and earn badges for what you know.
No account, no sign-up: your passport stays on your own device, and nothing about you is sent anywhere.
How it works
Learning first. Rewards follow.
Every card and badge is for something you learned. Nothing is random, nothing is timed, and nothing is rarer than anything else.
- 01
Read about an animal
Every animal in the field guide has its own page. Read it, then add the animal to your passport at the bottom.
- 02
Pass its field check
A question about what you just read. Get it right and its trading card is yours. Get it wrong and you'll see the answer, and where to find it, then try another.
- 03
Take on the activities
Ocean quizzes and Guess That Animal earn badges. You can try them as often as you like, and every answer is explained.
- 04
Keep your passport safe
Your passport lives on this device. Write down your restore code, and you can bring it back anywhere.
Everything you learn here is from our field guide, checked against NOAA, the IUCN Red List and other scientific sources. Want to know what Ocean Explorer keeps on your device? Read our privacy page.
